MOSQUITOES
Last night I was attacked,
By a blood thirsty swarm.
It was a scourge of mosquitoes,
Out do to me great harm.
I was scarred from the battle.
Red welts marking each bite.
I was weakened from loss of blood,
And I itched all night.
I swore that would be the last time.
A revolutionary repellent I would invent.
Something to drive mosquitoes away,
Leaving me calm and content.
So I set up shop,
And started mixing this and that.
Looking for the formula,
That will make mosquitoes scat.
I tried 140 times,
But nothing was working out.
The mosquitoes were laughing at me.
My success was in doubt.
And then, Eureka!!
A formula that worked at last.
There’d be no more mosquito bites,
And itching, a thing of the past.
I mixed and bottled,
My very first batch.
It’s my revolutionary mosquito repellent,
And I made it from scratch.

But they were nothing like those that come from here in Texas that are the size of small jet planes and have stingers that are square-shaped to add pain. Found just over the beachside dunes where one goes to pee. They are the stars of the Clute Mosquito Festival and can scare the piss out of you when they attack.
