Mr. Green Jeans Farm

Just in time for spring planting.

 MR. GREEN JEANS FARM

Mr. Green Jeans has a farm.

He grows the strangest things.

Like kidney beans with kidneys,

And bell peppers that ring.

He plants lima beans with corn,

And grows succulent succotash.

He planted a row money trees,

Hoping for a good crop of cash.

To make split pea soup,

He grows real split peas.

He planted coaxial cable,

To grow channels for his TV’s.

For foot long string beans,

He sows legumes with string.

He plants eggs to grow eggplants,

And his weeping willows sing.

Mr. Green Jeans grows many flowers,

Like sun flowers that bloom at night.

The Trumpet vines have horns to blow,

And his Black Eyed Susan’s fight.

 His daffodils are daffy.

The iris’s have eyes.

There are fire breathing snapdragons,

But smelling them them is not advised.

He plants fluorescent light bulbs,

And grows the brightest flowers,

But they tend to short out,

During thunderstorms and showers.

The flower beds are lovely.

Each flower has its own little bed.

Mr. Green Jeans tucks them in each night,

And a bed time story is read.

Although you’ve seen many strange things,

There’s no cause for alarm.

It’s just another day,

On Mr. Green Jeans farm.

I think you should have categorized this one as Children because I think it even tops old McDonald's farm for kid appeal. Only you'd have to give the disclaimer that you were telling whoppers in the verse unlike the true animals and sounds from old McDonald's farm.

Very nicely composed with fresh tidbits of today that all of us will recognize and be completely in tune with what you are saying. I still believe a compilation looks very necessary because your style is consistent and interesting.

I like all the imagination that went into this one.
If it were my yard, I'd have to say the dandelions are doing just dandy.

I love it! I can't decide which plant I like best. I'll go with the fire-breathing snapdragons!

One after the other, every verse tops the one before it, from stringy string beans to eggy egg plants. Bravo. Another winner in my book. John
