A DAY AT THE PARK
We were at the park,
For a day of fun and play.
There were slides and swings,
And all kinds of things,
Making for a pleasant stay.
We played King of the Mountain,
By climbing rock walls.
We swung on swings so high,
We could touch the sky,
And then tossed around Frisbees and balls.
We ran barefoot through the grass.
Blew on dandelion seeds and made a wish.
We jumped and splashed in the creek,
Lifting rocks to take a peek,
At salamanders and crayfish.
All too soon, it was time to go home,
It was getting dark and late.
We couldn’t believe,
It was time to leave,
But our day at the park was great.

Thanks for reminding me of the days
in so so many ways
when slides and swings
were important things
and the 1st time i caught a gander
at an unwary salamander.
Thanks for the memories...
