Atonal

At 19 I learned that to sing is a gift
that one may enjoy music and signing
but never volunteer as a singer
and from that day's discovery
as a kindness to mankind
I sing alone
In my freshman college year for
tryouts in the annual musical
with no voice training
my debut ended after
singing two lines
Recalling this laughable stunt
by a brash over confident fool
my contribution to the arts
was as memorable as
those TV commercials made at
home by the advertisers

Thank you for singing to us! Never stop!!
To live without music is unthinkable!!
Hope you can hear me singing back. Only slightly off-key?
Oh, well. Can't all be Ella Fitzgerald or Blue Eyes.
Thanks again!!

I too love to sing, I sang throughout elementary and high school, but that was as a brave young or maybe a naive young girl. As an adult I don't mind singing in church, but I usually have help from my daughter and sister in-law...never a solo, somehow fear comes with age! A great write my friend!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

Those videos are worth their gold when we bring them back into the light. I'd love to hear you singing.

This reminds me of my youngest singing in the shower and my husband applauding after he'd turned the water off... but the kid could really sing..lol We just loved to give him a hard time about the shower stage..) I do love the poem!

William,

I don't sing anymore. Don't ask me to sing. LOL

AI, I am not!

Well written, enjoyed your song. :)

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I find the car with all the windows up the least disturbing to other drivers.

Thanks for the smile.

I sing in the shower - the water drowns me out. Others appreciate this.

William, I was lucky. I had the cows. They will listen forever and never tire. I really miss those days...--Charlie
