A little humor about a turtle.

The Miracle of Homer

Have you ever seen a lopsided turtle?

There was one who had a problem overcoming this hurdle.

Everyone knew him because Homer was his name.

The length of his legs were not the same.

And his eyes were as goofy as a railroad cross.

Many times his balance was lost.

He would stagger and fall and bump into walls.

All the other animals would laugh and call,

“Homer.  When you going to get straight?!”

This poor turtle didn’t even have a playmate.

Sometimes he would tip over onto his back.

He would kick his feet and go in circles still intact.

All the other animals would only laugh.

Then one day he got on the right path.

My Lord, it was a miracle sent by God.

It was all so very odd.

Suddenly his legs were of the same length.

With that came a lot of strength.

How his eyes got straight, nobody knew how.

All the other animals were in shock now.

“Homer! How did this happen to you?”

They had to ask because nobody knew.

Homer was the only one who could say.

The secret was that to God he simply did pray.
