I never forget Cinco De Mayo

Some Holidays are special for other reasons - Maybe I should have put this in
the Action /Thriller category

I never forget Cinco De Mayo,

Birthday cards they give you and celebration cheers,
Sympathy might be better for all the golden years,

Never thought I’d get this old or have so many health requirements ,
What happened to all those wonderful things, they said about retirements,

Along came this pan damnit, as if I didn’t have enough,
Every ailment in the book, gittin old is pretty rough,

She said move over six feet more from where you are.
Hell’s fire miss boss lady, l cain’t even walk that far,

Glad I had all the fun when girls were my addiction,
Now everyone’s offended , clean fun is science fiction,

I met her near St, Paddy’s Day when I was on the prowl,
Naturally rejected, Then I had to chase this Gal,

It was plain to anybody and everyone, to see,
She could bag a whole lot better squirrel than me,

I guess I was persistent and she finally took my views,
I fell off the bachelor wagon and practiced my I Do’s,

Was her Dad being funny or getting a message through,
He had this ancient shotgun , he showed me a time or two,

God was directing traffic in this case I would guess,
I really cain’t remember if to my question, she said Yes,

We’d only known each other for two short weeks at best,
We’ll have time a plenty to learn the hidden rest,

I reckon she had no idea of what there was to come,
But an instant loving friendship, It really happens to some,

Procrastinate , I guess we didn’t know the word ,
No sense in burning daylight was a comment that I heard,

Cinco De Mayo Is as good a day as any for us to tie the knot,
Now looking back a long long ways you wonder what I got,

Guess I hit the marriage lotto , just look at what we’ve done,
Still leaning on each other. This year is sixty one!

What a great way to announce your anniversary. I'm sure glad she has stuck with the old coot. You know, the one that still can whip out a funny line or two if needed during the tough times to come.

My squeeze of only 29 years keeps telling me that she's going to stick with me to the end and then she's going to "get to hell out of here and travel" far and wide without having to take care of the likes of me in the process. I wish her the best, and am looking forward to an early demise where I leave a good-looking corpse and she is free to fly while she's still young, beautiful and healthy.

Bonjour Tom & Better-Half Boss-Lady! Now, I know the truth of how it all happened, You Lucky Monster ! Took advantage of her, and that, too, past retirement age... How did the Diamond Jubilee go ? - if I might be so bold as to ask. Your rather long silence has barbed your musings, and you are back in your old swinging best.
Incidentally, "Cinco de Mayo" is a redoubtable Goya painting in the Prado. Did you choose this title to exemplify your own fate: the helpless outstretched arms of the victim (if I remember right) before the firing squad ? Best to the BOSS as well. Welcome back !

No More Crying Angels by MORGAN ST. JAMES

TRUE STORY. Bella survived an abusive powerbroker father with organized crime ties, a drug-addicted mother and a physically/sexually abusive brother. Shocking & inspirational. When she couldn't cry, she tattooed a crying angel to cry for her.

Can We Come In and Laugh, Too? by MORGAN ST. JAMES

Rosetta was born in 1909 as the youngest of ten children. The family had more laughter than money and neighbors would knock on their door to ask, "Can we come in and laugh, too?"
