Consider the looming lies and fears that trap a woman or a man in an emotionally abusive and draining relationship, that leaves a trail of visible and invisible scars

Oh lovely lady, if you could only understand and see,
How beautiful you are, sitting next to him- completely free,
Of any self doubt and fear of not being wanted.
You're as valuable as you allow yourself to be, no longer haunted.
Do you know that you hold the answers to your happiness everyday?
Life offers more than this moment. You have a say.
You, belle dame, deserve the respect you give in return,
But he doesn't treasure that, and continues to turn,
Towards the illusions, ever present before you both,
Ignorant of the price that's required, void of any worth.
Next time, he looks away- ever unfaithful, to your dismay,
Remember to maintain your dignity, and even consider, to walk away!

Again, and sadly, your verses express a universal and timeless theme of this world/life, Carmen. Well done and thank you for sharing. Love and best wishes,
