It certainly is a belief that people hold on to because otherwise, there is nothing beyond the extinguishing that life that guides our daily living.

Quite frankly, I don't recall sensing my spirit, or my memory, for that matter, until I was around four years old. I'm sure it was around much earlier than that, but I wasn't developed enough to even sense it. For example, I don't remember anything about the terrifying time I had when my brother and I pushed over the beehives and we were stung many times. My mother had to tell me about that, later. Did it affect my spirit, I don't know. Will I remember and know my spirit, after my heart stops beating? Probably not.

But believing is believing, and somehow, in this life, so many spend a lot of time on believing because it seems to make them feel better when their current spirit needs a little something to boost it up… In other words, do something about the future instead of pining for the past.

It is said that we are all souls belonging to the universe, only borrowing our bodies to inhabit on earth, and when our bodies expires, our souls will seek to inhabit somewhere else at a higher level. Yes, I believe our souls will live on forever.
