Iceberg - "Iluliaq":
"The Spirit of Ice",
so the Inuits say.
Iluliaq - Frozen time:
Pre-existing all peoples,
it was before all cultures -
sealing all knowledge
within its sixteen million years.
The Inuit people are never alone.
All things, animate and inanimate,
speak to them their souls
and share with them
their wisdom.

Born to dissolve
its Spirit of the Ages
into waters that evaporate
and drop again as rain:
What a fascinating poem this is. I learnt something new and once again marvelled at your delivery. Kate you are far too humble. I know I sound like I am gushing but you really are one of the best poets on the den. Fantastic work!
Again another superb write, having experienced them (icebergs) up close and personnel I still see the beauty of them in my minds eye thirty years after sailing throughout them and breaking through the pack ice of the North. Their intensity is overwhelming.
You move up to the head of the class with this outstanding write! The word, "Iluliaq," is actually West Greenlandic Inupiat. (Not that I speak it, mind you, I've just done a lot of research on the Inuk peoples.)
I particularly enjoyed

I find it fascinating how ancient peoples explained natural phenomena, things beyond their comprehension and control. :) Very well written, I give you an A ++++! :)
A superb and well informed write Kate, your tutors should be proud of you I know if you were one of my students you would be top of the class...I like apples lol!
