This last phrase reminded me of Chico Marx at the piano playing a well known tune that had a refrain without an ending. Groucho, sitting impatiently with his legs crossed, chin leaning on hand, remarked, 'When you get to the end let me know and I'll jump off.'
I was also reminded of the apostle Paul who could reflect 'the good that I want to do I don't but the bad that I don't want to do I do...'
