The Vigil
« on: July 13 2004

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I stand between you and the abyss ,
A gossamer thread betwixt good and bad .
Torn souls and tortured memories
Persist into the fall of dark .

No view behind , no future glimpsed
All has vanished into the caverns of time
My rock , my bridge has dissembled
And thrown my ramparts down .

Unholy thoughts and devillish deeds
Rack my inflamed soul
A crescent moon , and a mournful dirge at dawn
Herald this night of despair

Bravo Peter, I don't believe I have read a better description
of being torn between good and evil, than this poem!
What you have written , should make us all aware that
the disaster, is the next step down, absence from God,
and that is intolerable!
