Do you know where you are going to Do you like what life is showing you Or are you drifting like flotsam at sea What do you want to become one day Have you kept your dreams and schemes alive Cuz you must Its a short life from the cradle to the grave Makes no difference to anyone else Its what you do that counts at the end So decide today where you are heading For tomorrow may never come The hourglass forever trickles away Seize the moment in rapturous delight Carve your future with unbounded zeal Waste not a second in negative thought Consciousness is a gift to awaken the senses Lead on kindly light through the gathering gloom Until you settle on the seashore of home Copyright by Peter Paton 2005

I like Sage's response. This poem hits home. The road map surely helps. There must be a plan. But in following that plan trust is often absent. I Know that's true with me. More often than not, I'm inclined to think I'm failing, though I know where I want to go. Thanks for posting this, Peter; it got my wheels in motion. :-)

How can one not know where they are going if they meditate on this picture? There are those who wait for things to happen, there are those who MAKE things happen, and there are those who say "What happened?"

If your dreams are 500 miles away and you still have not arrived, go that 501 mile, because that extra mile is where your future is carved, the gateway to the rest of your life! As Peter says, "waste not a second in negative thought."
