zeretia   Omar Khayyam quote    ...........................................................................   The glorious path to God is a direct one he pulls us by love to his hidden treasure spin, whirl and rotate to sheer ecstasy and be drawn to the Eternal Beloved for we can know the Almighty in this life when I was young, I fell in love with love still grasping the significance of it all not realising that all earthly attractions are but dust running through my fingers I came across the the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam and discovered the futility of life we are but shadows rustling in the twilight so drink up, be merry and play before the curtain comes crashing down on our unsuspecting heads I fell in love with Rumi's ruminations sweet eastern pearls of the divine that free the caged man inside by directing us to the Blinding Light through mysticism we find the way when we renounce the world and its pay I close my eyes in meditative contemplation and see all men are linked to each other by the invisible chain of devotion and truth the spiritual path is to be selfless and ascetic in loving remembrance of the one who spawned us all for then we see and understand what really is as the sweet grapes ripen on the climbing vine then wither in the retreating sun you must catch your dreams before they vaporise like rain in the burning sands and with purity of manner like the Sufi then you can transmute your fears and desires spiralling in endless motion towards the Transcendental this is the Absolute Bliss   Copyright by Peter Paton 2006
