" The Indian possesses the highest veneration for the Great God, who has become familiar to the readers of Indian literature as Manitou.
No idle tales are told of Him, nor would any Indian mention Him irreverently. "

The morning sun rises magnificently in the azure blue skies
and the shimmering heat of the desert drifts across my face
as I meander purposefully across the dry, arid, barren terrain
I rest sanguinely beside a joshua tree
taking the welcome shade it does afford
and drink some refreshing water from my flask
as I view the disappearing horizon and vanishing point
of a mirage of illusory, intangible dreams and schemes
I feel your heartbeat Great Spirit of the Sky
knocking relentlessly on the door of my heart
telling me that life is precious and sublime
and to count every second as a blessing in your hand
a red tailed falcon comes veering into view
arcing and wheeling high overhead
the majestic forager of the thermal currents
his piercing cry disturbing in its intensity
sending a ripple effect through the sky
and transmitting shivers down my spine
echoing man's inhumanity to man
and the pertinent knowledge
no one really can really be trusted
for in the end, they all let you down
as they all live within their own personal compartments
in this futile charade
this Empire of Dirt
that represents this Fallen World
a jack rabbit scampers into view
interrupting my train of thought
nervously surveying the landscape
for friend or foe, within the sacred wilderness
and I am one eternally with the consciouness
of the native warriors who roam my mind
those kindred spirits, who understand the game
for we are the living fossils of the great Manitou

For that is truly what every breath is. A blessing of the Almighty.
Such a beautiful verse to read from you dear friend. Knowing that you truly believe the words that you write makes them all the more dear. Good Day W.C. - :D

Ps: Nope no bothering yet :)

Truly liked this one, Peter - we can learn much from ancient Native American wisdom - and oddly enough, I just returned from a place called Manitou Island - in the great northwoods.
Love,
