I once wrote a poem about my experience of what a joy it was for me to walk on stepping stones at the beginning of the Mississippi River in Minnesota. And it caused me to wonder how much time I had left to enjoy such experiences in the future. So I ended the last line with, “I wonder . . . I wonder.” I am now 78. Thanks for the advice. I try to get out and get a little sun every day. But I avoid the hustle and bustle of city life, most of it just frantically going from place to place without thinking about all the wasted time doing unnecessary things and not stopping to smell the roses along the way.
That old hourglass is running out for most of us. Except for those kids watching theirs fill up.
If the universe is running down, and time, itself, I'm afraid it will take quite a few billion years in our short mindset and memory for that to happen.
