To their memories...

Poem Artwork

Why Did I Have To Wake Up Dead?

I don’t understand a thing they said

I’m comfy but this is not my bed

Soft and silky and all lined in red

My silenced voice asks: “Please tell me,

…why did I have to wake up dead?”

Yesterday was laughing with a friend

Reliving the fun of our last weekend

Rushing from class to class again

Without warning I felt a blast of pain

I’m dead, things can never be the same

My Mother held in my father’s embrace

Their teardrops blend together can’t erase

Their roses on my coffin deep velvet red

My silenced voice screams again: “Please tell me,

…why did I have to wake up dead?”

Dear Fee:

Boy, isn't this it? Suddenly gone, these human beings, most of them even before their prime, and the two dedicated to them. I've had these thoughts in general before - of a brother, a daughter. Let it be this for me, I think. What will be, will be.

Beautiful sad sad poem.

love,
Kathy

My,my dear cuz, how do u come up with them. You certainly writing a lot about death, but hey, the older we get the closer we are to it.
I am not implying that older people pass on first, but it seems we do think about more. But it is a wonderful feeling when we feel prepared and not afraid. We should certainly live each day as if we dying. Love & hugs

Fee..Powerful masterpiece!! I know there's been
Nothing else on everyone's mind but the
Devastating events that took place yesterday
my prayers go out to all the
Families and friends,ralatives of all
The souls that lost their lives on yesterday's

That was beautiful bro. When I read the title I first thought of Mom, Dad and Jimmy. It's been over 26 years and I still find it hard to think of that year.

To all the families, relatives and friends of the souls of yesterday's events, my prayers go out to you. We as a family know the pain and suffering felt, as we lost three within a 9 month period.

Love ya bro, see you in June.

Little brother, John

There's been little else on my mind since the news about the tragedy yesterday reached me. I wanted to write about it but couldn't. Thank you Fee for doing such a great job with such a sad and vicious happening. I can't even imagine the grief of all those parents.
Hugs,
Marcia

An awesome tribute to the students that died yesterday in such a horrifying tragedy that took place. It is quite scary since my son will be attending college in September. Thank you Fee, for remembering penning a wonderful memorial.

Indeed, why should anyone? Why did they have to be victims of a 'mad' society? I only pray, since we cannot erase it, that some good emerges, some recognize of changes that need to be made, and I don't mean in added security. But in understanding people, and why they do these things.
