They say that I’m a Norman Rockwell Santa

An old time picture stolen from the past

An iconic image of the true Christmas spirit

From a mold God’s memory must have cast

Refused to wear a cheap Walmart Santa suit

Had them order me velvet of the very best

And no phoney beard for this old Santa

My real one must pass the kiddie’s tugging test

Loving Momma’s want their baby’s picture

With sweet Santa smiling down adoringly

Little girls and boys want to kiss and hug me

Asking I make all their little dreams reality

Uncertain teenagers giggling ask Santa

If I can find for them some real hot boys

Santa roars with laughter at their innocence

He knows they now want grown up toys

Then there’s the middle-aged divorcees

Lost and frightened in an empty home

They just want Santa’s reassurance

Strong arms so they won’t feel so alone

Seniors from the home, God bless them everyone

Santa greets each of them as they go by

I see the flash of their recalled memories

It sometimes brings a teardrop to my eye

Yes, from my throne down at the mall

I get to sit and watch the whole world go by

I see the rich, the poor, the sinners and the saints

And I never judge them or try to reason why

You won’t hear me holler Happy Holidays

I ring my bell and in my deepest voice

I yell out Merry Christmas one and all

I’m Santa and that is my choice

Santa’s naughty and nice list grows fatter daily

So when you climb up on my lap today

Whisper that you still believe in magic

You know with me that goes a long long way!
