As a child I was always fascinated with Sleeping Beauty and always wondered when I saw the animated version of this clasic if she dreamed...

When Sleeping Beauty Dreams

By: Fee

A Goddess, she lays…

On an alter of ivory

Her long dark hair framing

The beauty that all but one man

Can own with but the breathe of a kiss

he aches with longing for her throughout time

The witches cackle

elated at her imprisonment

While the caring dwarves tears singe

The sheets of the virgin bed of sweet purity

Those who have basked in the love of her heart

Who now seek only for the re-awakening of her warmth

Unrelenting hope

But battered , scarred

He rides the harsh night winds

Seeking his true heart’s desire in a dream

Twisting, turning, through the maze of an evil potion

Always keeping his sleeping beauty just out of reach

Ah but alas

Somewhere in the dream

Over the misted fields of Avalon

She feels the press of his lips on her lips

He has found her and they join in passion’s embrace

His teardrops of joy and delight mix with hers to mist the night

Tomorrow

It has no bearing

They share a dreamscape

Where two hearts beat as one

And two bodies naked frolic freely

Too soon will come the dawn and with it reality

After sleeping one hundred years without brushing her teeth you gonna kiss that broad? you have more courage than most my friend.
Otherwise, I like very much your poem, although that thought about the two of them frolicking in the nude sent me right to a cold shower!

Imaginative insight so delicately written for one who slept in grace until her prince came. Perhaps the idea that sometimes dreams do come true will keep us all dreaming for a very long time....

Be always safe,
Karen
