where the dark begins and the sorrow wends...here I shall go...

Wide Eyed Dead

By: fee

a mist shrouded road

like a dirty gray lace

leads through shadows

dragging over the dead

skulking around tombstones

clinging to the smell

of damp moldy dirt

freshly dug among

the stones of the ancients

the gravedigger’s humming

songs of the expired

yellow bones rattling

‘neath ragged strips of skin

worm holes and maggots

no angels dare to thread

where only the forsaken

claim their four by eight

lien on t0is weed infested

unholy soil…

ah but tis here we meet

my lips on your lips

the sanctity of forbidden love

two hearts beyond the edge

two souls not inclined to

give in to the humanity

of what morality seeks

we will lay with the dead

for they will accept us

as surely as the living reject us

into the abyss let us go

where we can walk as one…

Yikes! I like this unique and engaging poem! It's energy swept me along its eerie paths to observe these lovers who dared defy the norm in order to satisfy their desires. Extremely well expressed, Fee! Thanks.

Wow, this is wonderful writing, Fee. Your descriptive verses are deeply stirring and there's a dark passion that permeates your words. This style is reminiscent of the classics in many ways and I believe this is one of your best in terms of unadulterated emotion.

Very grim romance here. Love cannot die, but dwells deep in the bones even after the last breath of life has expired. Excellent, Fee!
A hallowing romantic tale!

Holy Cow Fee, I sure hope this is a Halloween tribute or something. The last place I'd pick is a cemetary especially this time of year, and I'm Dr. Bonnie...This is some poem you've penned, there's love, sadness, fear, death, its got everything...You are one talented man. Love, Bonnie

Don't you hate when you get sand inside your mouth? and those gravediggers, can't change once in a while their tune?
