I will always equate the beauty of a sail boat at night with romance and this is although this is just a fictional work it is also part of who I am...

Dream Sail Past

By: Felix L. Perry

From the shore I saw the mast

Like a compass pointer to the stars

Red light on it’s starboard side

Green light beneath the planet Mars

Just an old single-mast sailboat

Gliding waves silently under sail

No ringing phone and no internet

Not even letters sent by slow mail

I wondered where she hailed from

And where she might be headed to

I wished that we were onboard her

Lover’s dream just right for two

In my head I heard Calypso music

It carried us on that boat to far away

You and I dancing naked on the deck

Where the gentle breezes seem to play

Yawning I closed my eyes a second

I opened them again the boat was gone

But that sweet dream of you and I

For so long lingered on and on…

Dear brother Fee, as a motor-boat swashbuckler that loves an even keel, I have not big thoughts about people living in a world tilted 40 degrees the wrong way and think "that's fine!" and when Calipso music is heard we don't need no wind to take us there, we pollute the hell of it and get there pronto! when that sailing ships at last arrive all the girls will be exhausted of...dancing, yes, that's the word, dancing.
Pass the rum and tell another story.

Georg

Og Fee! Your love poems have gotten snappier and more intense! You had me standing right there, watching the sail in the moonlight just like you had me smelling the campfire in your last perfect piece! Ah! What a painter of words!

Hi Fee, Although I've never been on a boat such as this, you sure took me there with this write. And the title is perfect for this. The longing is felt in this, my friend.... stay the strong, sweet man that you are... ;)

aye,aye Cap'n -- that's a voyage that I'd sign onto everytime it left port -- I have a friend who once owned a sailboat -- he is a romantic not unlike we poets -- the name of his yacht always captured my romantic imagination -- "Essence" -- a fine poem of romance and the lure of a sailboat for two -- peace and love my friend - Jon Michael
