I will be walking away from my house and after almost twenty five years of living in houses to move into a high rise apartment. Although I will miss the feel of a home...I am looking at this at a brand new epiisode of my life...
Absolutely brilliant, I can feel his pain in every line

You did not fail my friend, many times what seems like failure is the back door to success. I read a book by that name years ago and it is so true. Good luck with your new adventure! LadyJ
I did this five years ago after my husband's death.. not to a high rise but back to town which I never thought I would do.. I do understand this piece so well
It is always so sad to leave ones home and you can't help but feel melancholy and a tug of the heart after reading this piece. Very emotive piece, Fee, and as you say, a brand new experience lies ahead and best wishes with it all ...well done! ~Elizabeth
Oh Fee, I can so relate to your poem. I am struggling with staying in my condo. After my divorce six years ago, I left my beautiful house to be single. It was the best choice, but I struggle to pay all these rising costs of owning your own home on a single income. It's nearly impossible these days. Think about all the time you will have to write. I would love to have that freedom of mind. I only work now, to stay above water. It's a lonely life, eating, sleeping, working, eating, sleeping, working...
Much peace, love, and light, and blessings to you and your wife,
Amber "V"
Fabulous write, although very sad! I felt every single word of this poem Fee. I wish you greatest blessings and happiness always in your new abode. Wow! A highrise! You'll be looking down on the world from now on. I'm hoping to get to Halifax this summer and I want to meet you and Rose and maybe have lunch or dinner together. There's so much to chat about!
Hugs,
Anna

ahh...sad, very sad that you'll be leaving this house...but always there are loads of surprises awaiting .Fill up the new house with old memories, that'll cover up.
Best wishes always. neerja
Fee - leave the broom. I usually don't buy into the myths but this one seems to work. Buy a new broom for your new home. And blessings to you and your new home, may you find peace and God's loving presence there. Hugs to you.
How sad to leave a home, but I wish you only good experiences in you new place. I am going to hang on as long as I can to my home I will not be good at apartment living...
You paint the picture so well, Fee. Almost too well. Having had to move more times than I care to remember, I relate Bigtime. You have a wonderful 'tude, hope you know. {Rhymes with the coolest possible

Oh, this is sad! Hope it isn't entirely autobiographical. Good luck in your new environment; the toughest part of moving is leaving the trees--at least for me. You never know how they'll be treated. Best of luck--and hope there is room for a few plants...
Very touching and too real in our times. It's a new start. . .maybe it will be a good thing. I enjoy the way your pictures and your poems go perfectly togethere.
Oh, Fee, this is a sad one. I've always been overjoyed to walk away from apartments. I couldn't imagine walking away from my house, unless I found one I like more. This poem pulls on the heart-strings.

Life, no matter what never will be the same, believe me, I too did turned the key for the last time to go living on a high rise, and realized that a walk on my high above veranda hadn't the same taste of freedom than when I walked on my lawn.
Good luck!
Well Cuz you gone and done it again, your words have filled my eyes. Know that this is a great move for both you and Debi. As we get older and our health don't work with us we have to do what is best and this is the best.
I am so horribly sad for you Fee
I know exactly how this feels, it is traumatic emotionally to let go when any of us are not ready to let go...my heart grieves with you...

I really felt this one Fee. We are in a situation that may end up badly with the three Rotties and us living in a mobile home some where. I grew up living in apartments so that part I do not envy you. I do however envy your beautiful way with a word , a thought and a tear. Just great writing!
Oh, can relate. Such a lovely house. Know what you mean about the tree. A person bonds with the trees around a house, especially if they've grown with them. And so many memories after 25 years, but you'll take them with you and build a new life. I felt a failure, too. But you must know that there are forces beyond your control and a different path that the universe may be leading you to. Yes, look to the future. Wishing you and yours a wonderful new beginning. This is an incredible write and one which touches me deeply...

I am glad you see both, as 'memories' will not be boxed up for good will, but will forever remain in your heart..new adventures lie ahead and I wish you and your family the best!

Wow, Felix, this is great on so many levels, though heartbreaking knowing the reality of it. It is the way you cut a vein open and let yourself drip onto the keyboard that makes this poem grip the reader. I think this is one of your best and so appropriate for the times in which we live. It is good to see you are looking to the future with a positive attitude. Blessings, as always, Michelle
