Poem Artwork

Look Again into the Looking Glass

Into fogged looking glass of rhyme

Must I lie to myself one more time

Count wrinkles in old imaged grime

Taking inured inventory line by line

Dream of what the wind brings in

Reasoned voices over groaning din

Two hearts that really cannot win

Beyond the boundaries passion’s sin

You a perfect vision in desire’s sight

Sweet heart-stopper unheard delight

Stroll my mind both day and night

Who really cares if wrong or right…

OHHhhhhhh....what a great photo!!
I often wonder why logic sometimes takes a backseat to the passions of the heart...as I have also looked into my looking glass...
...knowing, feeling, experiencing attractions want..."wrong or right"

Sometimes the mirror can be the one thing that saves us. Last time I took a close look, I got a real fright, not at my face lol but at the anguish therein...so I decided to change my stats...

That quotation "all's fair in love and war" huh, whoever dreamed that one up, must not of been shat on from a great height, or was a total numnut...Nothing fair about the co-existence of love and war!!

Aside from all that Fee, beautifully written my dear friend, as always..

i agree with Jude on this one- as Dostoevsky says in Crime and Punishment-- "Reason is passion's slave, is it not?" It is one of my favorite quotes and fits here perfectly. I think we all tend to see our faults in the looking glass, when really, the ones who love us see none at all, only the real beauty inside and out. This is a great poem, really well written and some good word choices, a new favorite of yours for me.

Ouch! to the picture and love Jerry's down-to-earth comment for sure. The wisdom of the brain can be at odds with the wisdom (or folly?) of the heart which pines if it is divided against itself, and often it finds the hard logic of the mind a cruel taskmaster. I think we'd all like to enter into and remain in Wonderland when it comes to love and passion and on their wings it's certainly most easy to fly there... until the window or door shuts in our face, that is! A beautiful write of heart's honesty and mind's desire to interrogate. Love knows not the colours black and white... xx

The mirror reflects an image....but the mind reflects so much more. Memories...some times a good thing....sometimes not, but I think it's how we react to them that makes the difference. Excellent write, Fee.

Sounds like a dilemma to me Fee, anyway love can be exiting whether it's right or wrong. Go with your instincts and let your heart soar!! We only have one life in this lifetime, make the most of it.
Peace, love, and light,
