post-partum Christmas

The wonder of Christmas, the joy of New Years Celebrations always seem to end when it is time to take down the tree and actually begin the real New Year or so it seems sometimes...then again my next write may refute that. LOL

Poem Artwork

post-partum Christmas

I wrapped up each ornament

in soft tissue paper once more

took down the green mistletoe

hanging over the front door

took back all the wrong sizes

the gifts two of a kinds too

came back brewed a cup of tea

my thoughts once more of you

threw out the last of the turkey

gobbled up the last candy cane

looked out the window at snow

i see it’s falling heavy again

swept up the needles that fell

that old fir tree grew pretty dry

I’m feeling postpartum Christmas

for new year’s resolution I cry

I watch a snow plow clear a path

so wish it could clear one for me

open the road up to my tomorrow

so somehow ahead I could see…

by the title I thought darlin Santa Fee had given birth!!!!!!!! :)) xx Well, guess you have, in many ways... to much joy and many poems!

... Funny... I have been doing the packing-up today and feel GREAT!!!!!!! Like I've had a long, hot shower and good hairwash!! Can't be waitin for that sluggish snow-plough darlin... The heat from my racing bare feet is already tearin up the tarmac and I'm ready to rock! Look hard and just around the corner is that mischievous little cherub with a bow in his hands, waiting round the block to get'cha! Don't get rid of those scarlet under-drawers just yet, Valentine...!! Great poetry, Felix; your lines convey such natural thought patterns effortlessly. xx

I hate it when I have to put away the decorations, it's sad. You captured it well Fee.

Ooohhh...that old empty feeling inside. It's bad. And the cold weather doesn't help. Reality is highly overrated. Love it. Liz

Getting to the real heart of the matter, seasonal woes, sometimes it all is just a show, and then reality hits us like a ton of icicles, freezing us out, only for awhile, and then the path is cleared for spring's greenery when our personal lives seem to shift, dollars appear from magic crystal balls and we can fix finances, live on less, love more...Felix, it's just a matter of time before you spring back...sending you love and good karma for the New Year!

Love,
Sage

Ah! Lovely lyrical write, Fee. But looking toward the future brings feelings of anxiety and stress.....we can only live in this moment.
