Peggy’s Cove Dreaming

 

On the ragged coast of Nova Scotia

Where the poets write the word

When the sun is o’er the ocean

Where my songs will go unheard

 

I’ll sing a another song of yearning

To crashing music of surf on stone

Yell out a chorus of I’m missing you

Sometimes you know I feel alone

 

I sit to watch the lighthouse glow

As it spans miles of in-between

Until I say good morning to a sunrise

One like you have never seen

 

Make a lover’s wish upon a seashell

Then toss it far, far out to sea

To ease my Nova Scotia yearning

Wondering if your wish would be me…

How beautiful is this... the greatness of the majestic skies and the magnitude of the resounding ocean only matched by the lover's intense and unyielding longing... As deep as immense, so is such a heart that feels such expressive passion. This really touches me today after re-running the pilot of one of my all-time fav TV serials last night, Due South, set in the far north... My son is constantly singing Franklin's Song about finding the North West Passage this morning! :)) The emotions stir and resound! Bless you, Darlin. Hope you are well. xx
