Thinking salmon struggling to go upstream to spawn then die...and my mind jumped to mermaids and what if they did similiar what a metaphor it would be for love and life...

Against the Current

Gold rays on ocean
Silvery flashes up stream
Against the current

Avoid rapids traps
Perseveration of spirit
Like life…do or die

Reaching calm waters
Serenity worth the ride
Like love…side by side
