Broken

Broken Man

He’ll disguise his tears in falling rain

As around his `heart he’ll built a wall

False façade to hide the love he lost

It needs to be erected strong and tall

 

In the dark alone, he’ll slip unnoticed

Far from all his family and his friends

Delving into recesses of tortured mind

Where…the memory of her never ends

 

Each day he’ll seem a little bit colder

As blood turns to ice inside each vein

He's giving up on all he once believed

Until the day he finally goes insane

 

Is he fated to salvation or damnation

It really don’t seem to matter anymore

Death can come calling when its ready

This reverberating write starts with a line that contains much. If this were a book, that opening line would surely let me know I was in for a substantive read. This poem was that substantive read. Ruin could not be written better than this. ~~ Diana
