She's licking my toes again
Her long tongue curling, eyes half-closed-
Concentration in their almond gaze
Licking my toes again...
And yes, I love you,
My sweet crocodile
Your genial, long-jawed, vulpine smile
I'm glad you're here,
My cuddly dear
But must you lick my toes?
I've thrown her ball,
I've rubbed her tummy
I've tickled behind her ears
But the sly kohlled eyes
Are fixed on mine-
And she's licking my toes again.
Distract her, please, with a growling hug
While I tuck my toes up under a rug
But her swivelled eyes
Are bright and sly
And she's burrowed under the blanket and-
She's licking my toes again.
How can I kick her?
