Batteries, Batteries, and more Batteries. Hi everyone from down under.

My 4 AA Battery, Automobile

by Barbara Lynn Terr

The transistor radio was the first

Powered by a nine volt battery.

It was state of the art

A marvel of its time.

We listened to all the stars

That Wolfman Jack played.

Elvis, Ricky, Patty, and Pat Boone

And mother yelling to turn it down.

Then came battery operated, this and that

But heaven forbid they should ever make

A battery powered bat.

Some worked, some did not.

But we had fun nevertheless, what.

When I was twenty something odd

I did what I should not.

I bought myself an automobile.

It was the finest of its kind

As it sped up and down the highway

It slowed for every turn

And banged into everything.

It went from zero to one hundred

In less than a second flat.

The doors, hood, and trunk, all worked fine

This wonderful automobile of mine.

It did not run on gasoline, or even ethanol

Not even on pedal power

But ran on four small batteries

My 4 AA battery, Automobile.

Yes now if they would just make battery powered cars available to the consumer at a price we could afford...woudn't that be a dream come true.

With the price of gasoline today, I could use a battery operated car.

Best wishes
