Lake Fishing

I enjoy fishing, and am lucky to be able to try to catch one when ever I want to, as we live beside a lake.
I wanted to share this unique expierence with you.

Fishies here , fishes there
Fishies swimming every where

Gotta try to catch me one
Cause fishing is so much fun

I cast a line in my favorite nook
Waited for the bait to be took

Suddenly felt a great big tug
My heart began to wildy thud

The pole bent under the weight,
thought the line would surley break

Faster and faster I began to reel
as I fought the fish with nerves of steel

Finally got it to dry land
The site was more than I could stand

A log was at the end of my line
It was large and looked quite fine

As I bent to pick it up,
Something under it moved at my touch

A six pound bass I caught that day
Happily I released it and walked away

Some day soon I'll try once more
as I stand on the beautiful lake's shore.

I like that you let the fish go, too :) This was like walking in your shoes, and having never been a fisherman, that was a nice experience for me. Thanks :)

This brings back memories of my childhood. I have not fished for years now. Thank you. I like that you let the fish go. Love and best wishes,

I love fishing and this reminded me of fishing in Lake Norman. I usually only catch a big one or nothing... I enjoyed this poem.

Mary that reminded me of the time I went fishing in the Conneticut River on the farm during low tide and I was pregnant and got stuck in the mud. How my husband laughed. I looked like a little piggy trying to get unstuck. Thanks for the memories.
