Sadly this has happened is happeniong and will always happen as long as the human race populates a planet. And it is in every country, not just here or there though more prevalent in countries that are less free than ours,where oppressive regimes allow cruelty,and don't broadcast it. Excellent write Sage. You write all your topics well, and I applaud you for that!

One little incident, true or not Jenata, but which is a small ripple on the ocean of mistreatment of human beings worldwide. I have ascreamed, pointed my fingers (all of them) jumped up and down and generally ranted my ass off to my local newspaper about the inhuman treatment young girls AND boys are subjected to in far too many countries in this world. America gets a very bad rap because of our crimes and misdemeanors and rightly so, but it is because we at least shine the light on our sins of ommission and allow the whole world to see. Hell, we even fought a war because of slavery, the same kind of slavery which is going on in too man African countries in these so-called modern days. Young boys can be bought for the night in so many countries, and I am not talking teenage boys here. The pedophiles from the world flock to these places where the police are paid off handsomely to shuck and jive down the street with blinders on. So, true poetry or not, it is true in spirit.

It really is quite despicable what is going on in our society nowadays Sage, it makes me sick with revulsion.
We also have a similar problem here, where there is reckoned to be 7,000 sex slaves, run by East European mafia, some of the poor defenseless women are only schoolgirls, and they endure appalling and brutul treatment.
Just what kind of God Forsaken world are we all living in !
Keep showing us the corruption and vice in our world Sage, for people to see, and get together and do something positive and urgent about, to redress these horrendous practices.

Graveyard ghoulishness meets real life nightmare here, Sage. I am off to South America myself in a few days but doubt whether I will be sampling much of this "dark side of the street", going in the capacity of "good-time holiday-maker" that I am. We have such romanticised idylls of Rio Carnival and all that... but the realities of the poverty of Street Children and the stuff you mention here, for example, together with a heavy religious hand intermingling with such human suffering reminds me of the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Sadly, unlike his fiction, reality is NOT the stuff of burlesque magic realism and baroque. You choose an interesting genre to make your exceptionally eye-balling points. Knockout. TY Kate xx
