In Coal country, we ask "Jeet yet?" "No, ju?"
"Ho-butt" is a greeting or a noun. "Ho-But, How are yuz?" or Yep, he's a Ho-butt from Coal Township." Ho-but can be spelled with 1 or 2 T's.
I enjoyed this cute little sample of New-York-ese. What a clever pic to go with it!
