My colon procedure was on "Good Friday".
It was not good time, that I must say... Well, could it have been worse!
I got a nurse who almost put me in a hearse!
Multiple times she could not find the right spot for my IV.
Igrinned and prayed "Oh Lord, please help me!"
Then a guy entered who gets paid to put you asleep…
I just closed my eyes and prayed; I didn’t make a peep!
My doc strolled in the room and told me to roll on my side
I did not know what hit me; I was just there for the ride!
When I was awakened, I was in another time and space
I was told to get dressed if I wanted out of that place
Then I heard multiple fart sounds from the patients next door
The gas was so intense; it almost knocked me on the floor!
When the doc came in again I asked, “How are you doing today?”
He replied, “I’m feeling rather crappy, what else can I say?”
Then he gave me a “Prescription” and told me the news
"You’re getting older my friend! Enjoy life! Now go on a cruise!"
Good Friday will never be the same again! Amen!

Next time you have to try it without anesthetic like I have--twice. It isn't painful and it's quite educational. I am so glad they no longer do the old-fashioned barium enema. I had one of those and it was painful beyond belief, only to pronounce me quite healthy afterword.
The whole thing was a lot more painless than having to go without meat for all those Fridays because of Good Friday. But those fish frys were pretty good.
