Grateful Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving- a special time for family to gather around the table and count our blessings. This photo is in memory of my Uncle Henry (left, btm.) and cousins Vinny (left, top) and Alfred (right, back)) who have all gone to be with the Lord. We don't know our appointed time so we must be grateful for what family we have. Amen

Poem Artwork

We usually come and go from day to day

Then "Thanksgiving" comes and we pause to say

"I'm thankful for my family and friends."

"I'm grateful that I got to know them, along the way."

Then one season goes by and they are gone.

Folks that gathered at the table last year, disappeared!

We must be grateful for the friends and family we have now...

Tell them you love them today, before tomorrow slips away...

Amen

Absolutely true…
Here in the UK we don’t have an official Thanksgiving…
But this year we have said we are going to have
our own Thanksgiving meal, and remember all we have
to be grateful for, all our friends and family,
and all the people who have
contributed positively to our lives but who have now passed on…
It’s a beautiful celebration…
I hope you enjoy yours, and thank you for the timely reminder…

Happy Thanksgiving…

From the picture, it is obvious that you and your family had some great thanksgivings together. It has been many, many years since I shared a Thanksgiving table with anyone except my partner and while she made turkey for me, didn't eat it.

My twin brother recently attended our high school reunion in Wisconsin where I can no longer go. He said that everyone asked about me. Both of us were surprised to learn that over half of our class is gone. You're right about not knowing who will go next. We don't get to choose.
