Father's are an underrated and hazardous occupation any time of the day, from the repetitive "yes dear" trying to dog confrontation to the "ask your mother" trying to dog responsability.
Fatherhood seems to have come when the blood left the brain high and dry to go to another more atractive place, a kind of place were the game was Dare & Consequences, or...more blunt put "in the heat of the moment"
Fatherhood will be forever ranked as a second class schmuck compare to the sainthood of motherhood, because father just came and went, mother was for the all nine (yards) months duration.
And as we talk about it, did you know that Mother's Day came nine months after Father's Day?
Father could be so many, all we know,
and there can be only one mother,
but remember, it is going to be him
telling you all about the bees
and all about the flowers;
he is your pal on a discussion,
the high instance and the lower,
he, the teacher of the art of tolerance
will go ballistic at you for using
when taking a bath, all the hot water;
the one at all your baseball games
filling you with no so much pride,
when in front of all your friends
disagree at you being "Out"!!!
and go berserk against the Umpire;
who said "Oh,Yes!!!" to the mighty Sergeant
at the nearest Recruiting Office,
seventeen doesn't look too much
but for your father it was okay
because you wanted to be a soldier;
when at last you got a job and moved out
you couldn't understand all his crying,
it wasn't like as when the new car got totaled
it was just a menial job, which should
make him to be laughing happy;
oh...yes!, everybody got a mother
and forget all about the father,
but remember!!! if love and care is a she...
the father is a he, and is not in the set up
of your family car...a bumber-stick
Enjoyed this much George...a very touching write indeed. The mother poetry does seem to out number the dad writes. In my case because my mom was the sole provider and raised three of us since I was a toddler, in other's I think the father's are usually out making the living and mom's are often on the homefront more. However there are some great dads! My husband is a wonderful father and always tried to be there as much as possible, my son is a fantastic father...I may be inspired to write a poem about one them in the father role. Nice write, an attention grabber! Hadn't really thought about this until now! Enjoy your work, you've got our attention!
Blessings,

Hello George--I thoroughly enjoy all of your work..this poem is very touching..it is true that more coverage is given to Mom than Dad.I think in one of my posts next week, on Blogstream, I am going to do some father poetry..you got me thinking..keep up your good work, you are so gifted.

Awww, make me think of my son and my dad, just hope i win in court to see him again.. TY
Fathers are really special too, and they hold a special place in our hearts, be they the best dad on the planet or the worst, we still love them. They have a difficult job that often doesn't give them the recognition that they deserve. Nice pen, Georg.
Take care,
Sherry

Great job,Made me think back to my Dad and myself,Loved it,
Wise lines poetized delivering a striking question on family relation. "Who is your father boy???" made an excellent symbolistic bridge to make me see my mother... Glowing composition indeed.
