The brothers were forced to go below the border to escape mean people from Tombstone...

Poem Artwork

The brothers Ed gave Tijuana a big berth
a lot of gringos there, many a con men,
cards cheaters and muggers and preachers
no place for honest brother there and then.

They were directed to a cuatreros parador
where tequila wasn’t watered down a peck
and PeeWee mescal could make a big hole
on the floor of the senorita’s room upstairs.

That’s when of taking a bath started bragging
non other that our cork-head brother Jersey Ed,
in front of a bunch of unwashed mean thieves
and a big smelly mamma which was no “men”

The Poh-lice Federales was called to put down
a sacrilegious gringo now running fast upstairs
to warn his brothers riding pretty senoritas, that
they were now front runners on a shooting race.

Wearing only socks and their clothes under arm
from the windows they jumped on a dirt street,
as bullets and a couple of night-pot half empty
came menacingly flying around the running three.

When their horses saw them coming rolled up
their eyes like saying, “Oh no! not that again!”
soon they were riding towards California
were Mexicans don’t be offended for be wet.

PeeWee was in foul mood, so was ole Edvard,
looking, both, very baleful to innocent JD Ed,
whistling a tune learned from a mean spirited
fellow that ate many chick as “Bird-Whisperer”

Wade the Rio Grande into California, fast,
before Jersey of taking another bath complains,
while Edvard swallowed the tequila worm
PeeWee laughed so hard that his pants he wet!

You can run but you can't hide forever, you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool those Canucks anytime.
