I see the White Deer-
Often in the mist of Olema
Antlers-
large as elk
tangled with vines
Never see a white deer struck-
on side of road
See 3 or 4 brown ones
See 3 or 4 brown ones-
grazing with the white one
Big he is
and noble, kneeling in the pasture
His Ancestors traveled from India He was born here
San Andreas Native
Olema Local
My Ancestors came from Ireland, Scotland,England, all over Europe and Arkansas too- most recently- California
I was born here!
I am a Native of America
Bo-Grown Local
Who can say what is native and what is not?
The White deer lives
Lives in harmony with the brown deer
The white and the brown-
even get down
But here come the persecutors agein
see the strong stock striving
want to take their peace
Load up the guns
Ready for the execution
justified by their institution
If you want to hunt
I hope you need the meat
Have respect
This smells like a genocide
that you can't hide
like food coated with pesticide
What's the purpose?
Regulation of the population
Playing God with creation
all you make is devestation!
The White Deer has no fear
No idea that his fate was planned-
in a conferance
He doesn't care
he gathers with the flock
unaware
as Rangers polish their guns
and others plan contraceptive operations
he comes out of the forest
in the morning bright
A true ly splendid sight
I hope you need the meat
Have respect
Couldn't agree more, Mac.
