new dawns

as I close the gate
late
and breathe in the chill of morning air
I glance to the east
and
stop
gapping mouth ajar
at the color the display the showmanship
of
the rising sun
strips of clouds
stealing crayola names
magenta, florescent pink, mauve
bright slashes
across the horizon
a gift
here is beauty for your day
here is spectacular
greeting
for your weary soul
fresh, new in this moment
astounding in it’s magnitude
and I am grateful
and my heart is warmed
and my step is lighter
and
I
am
not afraid
of
new dawns

"stealing crayola names..." that is such a cute line. That was very creative, Josephine. I really enjoyed this poem.

This one stands out from all the rest Josie...not just because I see that same crayola dawn, but because you knew how to paint it for us!

Was I correct to say time and time again, how you possessed those crayola names as descriptors of metaphoric castles in the sky? How your muse arose as the sun in the east to release what already lay in your heart to match the beauty within your soul. From one Mexican jumping bean to another..."Here's looking at you, kid"
Con mucho carino...Amor
