Diffusing arguments...not sure where this one belongs: humor or inspirational! :)

Arguments

by

h. lena jones

Disagreements cause arguments

Which lead to bitter verbal exchange

Which lead to resentment and regret

Which lead to loss of friend or

Alienation of loved one

And when you later try to recall

The reason for the argument

You find you can hardly remember

Why it started in the first place!

I’m no expert on the subject

But it seems to me arguments

Fall under the category of

Wasted time and energy

(Neither of which I can afford)

And only serve to entertain

That idiot, the devil

Who has nothing else to do

But torment the living

And make them

Dislike each other!

So the next time you sense an argument brewing

Put on your proverbial hat and walk away

Refuse to engage in a no-win verbal combat

Here’s a ‘for instance’ for you ladies

If your beloved hubby leaves

His socks and underpants on the floor

Plop them into the laundry basket

It only takes a second

Or if you prefer, say in the kindest way

(Tongue-in-cheek, of course)

“It’s vacuuming day today, dear.

Anything found on the floor,

That doesn’t belong there,

Gets vacuumed up!”

Remember to keep your focus on Jesus thereafter!

“Do everything without complaining or arguing.”

(Philippians 2:14)

LOL There could be a ton of laundry in the ladies' vacuums in no time, Lena! hahahahahaaaa You are so funny, I love it! And I love YOU!

Humor is one of the choices The LORD has me use, also. Amazing what it can diffuse, when your spouse gives you a silly grin, and you both dissolve in laughter! I'd say this creative write touches BOTH categories: Inspirational Humor!

Wholesome laughter ALWAYS glorifies the Creator of it!

Love&hugs, Rhonda

PS> Tell your wonderful Daddy I said how blessed he is, to have such a comical daughter...it must be his unique humor you inherited! And give him a kiss for me, too!

I would say a little rguement would not hurt so long as one has a proper disposition, live and let live and agree to differ. But then that's me. I would never leave my socks or underpants on the floor :-) Victor

Oh Lena, you most certainly ARE an expert on the subject -- your words are so true here. We should all do that, just walk away when an argument is brewing.
Well done, sweet lady.
Many hugs,
CJ
