Written in haibun form (using modern haiku) this piece was inspired by a night of rain and the music it brought with it...
Splash
I hear rain
Splash against glass
And I smile
I wonder as I listen to this winter concert... how long has it been since Heaven's sonata has been played for me? A day... a week... a month... a season? But what does it matter really... because each is like the first heard and the next I wait to hear. Each has a texture and a scent and a taste of its own... and the dances, the poems, the mind paintings evoked, have their own spirit, their own heartbeat... their own splash against glass. And I smile...
This is beautiful,it puts a smile on my face.Hearing the rain touch the glass of the windows is music to my ears. Also hearing the rain bounce off the air conditioner is nice to hear as well :-).take care
I can relate to this, Myrna. We've had a deluge here and, with the melting snow, many people on the valley floor have had to be evacuated. Thank you. Love and best wishes,
Myrna, this is such a beautiful writing full of well-stated feelings of a soul and the playing of music arouses the heart to feel a texture, a scent, and a taste all of its own in each note. How much more beautiful could this have been written? (NONE)
This one is extraordinarily soothing and it makes my whole insides melt away! I'll bet it is even better hearing it read by a Cajun voice of conviction. Shall we try that? Love, - Bill
