On the bayou summer and autumn have an odd friendship and rivalry.. a conspiracy, if you will. I do hope you enjoy my somewhat playful perspective...
Conspiracy
Summer and autumn
Impishly skip hand in hand
Through September days
Blushing sunrise and sunset
And contemplating mischief
Like children, they are! Playing games with wind and warm, teasing us to confusion.... owning the changing stage. Even their giggles, dancing among leaves and tickling blades of grass, are both one in the same... and different. Their mingled hues of green and gold paint each breath they take, each whisper left behind. And we find ourselves captivated audiences... willing participants in the shared conspiracy of seasons coloring skies of September.
Wonderful perspective, Myrna, and so clever on many levels and beautiful in its language and phrasing - "owning the changing stage" - as you own the expression. Fine fine writing.
Fall is my favorite season and yes, I do very much enjoy the perspective that you share via your verses here, Myrna. Your poem is not unlike one that I've posted here at AD entitled, "Death of August." I find fall often to be quite inspiring. Thank you for sharing. Love and best wishes,
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
