Thunder rolls

It has been a rainy and rather cool spring. I guess it is making up for the fact that it was not an overly cold winter. Last night we had another thunder shower. This was a fantastic show of nature.

Poem Artwork

The sky turned dark and gray toward the end of the day.

A flash of lightening lit the darkened sky followed by thunder; a storm was on the way.

Another flash and another clap of thunder that sounded like an explosion echoing across the sky.

The thunder crashed the lightning flashed and we could only sigh.

Soon there came raindrops pounding against the windows and dancing in the street.

The winds blew from west to east and the rain was blown creating a stream as they fall and meet.

Another streak of lightening streaks across the sky and the thunder follows its sight.

The rain falls heavily to the ground and continues into the night.

Soon the lightning moves on and the thunder seems far away.

The rain becomes a light drizzle and it too will soon fade into quiet for it cannot stay.

It leaves the trees, grass and flowers glistening with raindrops that refresh their leaves.

If not for the rain the sunshine would become a source of poison if not for the rain that relieves.

This is beautiful! And it reminds me of why I want to live somewhere with weather! Nice work, Lew, in words and in the picture.

The beautiful yet very intimidating picture suits your poem perfectly. I could visualize every flash of lightening and heard the rain in my mind. Thanks for sharing.

Sincerely,
Ingeborg
