OK! So I awoke in a goofy mood today.
I hope you get a chuckle out of this

Hello my friends and welcome to my world

There are those who call me an old scatterbrained has-been

It is true that I am forgetful these days but, gee that is no sin

They say I am depleted but I say I’m simply pacing myself these days

They say I am a victim of Alzheimer’s disease or some such thing

Absentminded, used up, depleted and other shortcomings that old age can bring

I prefer to think of it as taking it slow.  After all these years, so what’s the rush?

I would still climb trees but my joints won’t take it

My heart wouldn’t sustain the stress so I won’t make it

They say “Old” and I say “Mature” now you tell me

I’m a full-grown adult who happens to see

That to be young was nice but I was immature

Nothing lasts forever and that I know for sure

So there is one thing I want you all to know to be old is not a fault

And further-more my friend???? Oh Dear… Excuse me.  I lost my train of thought

I prefer to think of it as taking it slow. After all these years, so what’s the rush?

Well written. I agree with everything in the poem. Loosing the trains of thoughts. Geeesh! That happens to everyone. :)
