Wow, Ron. Damn, but this is good. A ballad that keeps one's eyes darting ahead to the next lines. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I agree with so many others that it should get the wider exposure it deserves.
Best regards,
Leland

Like the shanachies of old Ireland, you have captivated me with this marvelously absorbing tale, richly enhanced by the language it deserved.

I can think of only one thing that would make this better... to hear it read aloud, curled up by a fireplace, on a bitter winter's night. Yes, this should be published. I believe it's one of a kind, in its originality and imagination. It is a gentle and poignant reminder of how inseparable nature and mankind truly are.

A beautiful piece, Ronald. katy xox.

Kate got it right. This needs to be published somewhere.

This is just excellent writing, Ron. When I looked at the page, I felt overwhelmed by the length, but I am glad that I decided to read it, anyway. A fun tale? Aye Matey!!
Take care,
Sherry

This really should be published somewhere, Ron, where it will get even more exposure. It is unique; poetic prose, a short-short story or something like it. Fascinating and gripping, you should do more in this genre. Thank you for this - and refreshing subject matter for this time of year! Thoughtful and insightful, too. LOL Kate xx

This is a fantastic write. I envision getting old and death between your lines. But you also detail so much life in your lines. I am thankful for the seasons, a chance for fresh starts and regrowths.
Thanks for sharing this with us.

Ron I have to tell you this is one of the best works I've read here. You are quite a storyteller and had me captured in your tale from beginning to end. Happy New year and I hope your holidays have been wonderful.
