Quiet Holiday Just a quiet holiday, Staying home alone. Just a quiet holiday, Nowhere to roam. No last-minute rushing, To get my work done. No last-minute guessing, For the best way out of town. Just sitting and thinking, As the sun's edge crawls. Highlighting brick and board, And ferns along my walls. Chasing shadows from the light, Revealing greens so tender bright. Buzz of insects in the heat, Shadow of bird fly by, hear the beat. Of wings in the warming air, You have to have been there. On a quiet holiday, At home. Copyright 2002 � Ronald W. Hull 5/26/02
