Thoughts on modern living with an appropriate image from Pink Floyd

Mind Control Shopping till I'm dropping--exhausted. Switching to free lanes on a freeway. Intercepting calls on a play-by-play. Balancing bills on payday. Mind racing a mile a minute. Munching takeout from a greasy spoon. Meeting deadlines way too soon. Head filled with that crazy tune. Scanning e-mails way past noon. Scrambling to stay in it. Juggling remotes with buttons ablaze. Text messaging sonnets with eyes aglaze. GPSing the way through the maze. Popping pills to cut through the haze. Trying to manage all of the shit. Hearing lost in all the noise. Eyesight dims in the spotlight. Feelings become out of touch. Mind loses control, ... and more rushes in. Copyright 2007 � Ronald W. Hull 9/20/07

I love what Pink Floyd does to my mind!
...as for life...Well, I'm still cranking up the volume, and am willing to lose anything in order to gain whats worth getting! LOL!

Hearing lost in all the noise.
Eyesight dims in the spotlight.
Feelings become out of touch.
Mind loses control,

... and more rushes in. . . "

You got it down pat Ron! It is getting too much for me, I'm becoming a turtle most days, pulling my head in to escape it all...but many can't do that and my heart goes out to you. Superb write! The image is perfect;-)!

You paint a picture of a modern harried life well. I have no idea why Ron ... but this write reminded me straight away of King Crimsons '21st Century Schizoid Man'. The river of our lives certainly does have those rapids and dangers we have to navigate - sometimes the rapids (challenges) seem interminable; like it's never going to change. Lets out-rig your chair with pontoons and go trout fishing on a lake.

And if your were serious about using that poem 'Charlatan' in your forward, be my guest. Peace dude ... I'll talk to you when I return from holiday.
