There is a double standard at play when it comes to freedom of speech. The righteous right wishes to eliminate what they call, "politically correct," speech, while all the while in their elected and appointed positions of power using those demeaning words freely (privately) while going through literature and other works of free expression and censoring (book burning) certain words from the text. It has gotten so bad that spellcheckers do not recognize commonly used words and even my voice dictation system dares not let me utter them without a "proper" replacement. When I say "shit," I mean shit. I'm not saying ship, and definitely don't want to say, poop, doo doo, excrement or defecation. Give me a break!

Doggies Do

To Randy Jackson, we all be dawgs,
in a homey, friendly sort of way.
Just an expression of kinship,
when difficult judgment comes in play.

When we call someone,
a son of a bitch,
we are referring to his mother,
and not to a witch.

She is much kinder,
when nursing her pups,
but some get the hind tit,
while getting their sups.

When it comes to higher-[mon]archy,
in appointed succession,
it's always nose to tail,
a subserviency lesson.

Step out of line,
bite the hand that feeds ya,
you will be banished from the pack,
face full frontal attack.

It's a dog eat dog world,
in the "free" enterprise game,
so don't piss on his mark,
Or you’ll be to blame.

I agree. My biggest pet peeve is "mankind." Why can't we use this word? What's the alternative: humankind? Are humans kind? Leave me alone, Grammarly!

"Don't bite the hand that feeds ya." . My father said that a lot, not towards any one of the family, he was Union.....maybe it was that. 'Love those pups all the same, hon!! 'Enjoyed......always....

Love ya!

You make good points in a satirical (with wry humor) manner, Ron. Nicely done. Love and peace to you,

I THOUGH NO ONE CAUGHT THAT BUT ME AND TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH, I WAS SURPRISED THAT HE DIDN'T...GO THERE, BUT, AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, HE DID. HIS ADVISERS ARE TRYING THEIR BEST TO CONTAIN HIM AND I HOPE OUR PRESIDENT DOESN'T READ THIS, RONALD, AND DECIDE TO JUST SAY SH__! INSTEAD OF FECES. I MEAN AFTER ALLL...HE DOES REPRESENT THE US OF A AND SHOULD AT LEAST TRY TO 'ACT LIKE' THE GENTLEMAN THAT HE IS NOT. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

I guess you didn't read my long intro. Most of you missed the point of my poem about how words are used and dogs, in particular are used to bully people. This poem was triggered by our president Trump characterizing his, "faithful and most loyal, friend and supporter," Amoroso, as a "dog."

Doggone right!

Ah! Dogs are the smartest creatures and are most loyal that put their masters first, and they will do anything, even to sacrifice themselves to protect their owners. I think Pres. Trump fits into this category because he is risking and sacrificing a lot of himself and his family to serve America, to make it great again. I only wish our Canadian PM has half his loyalty.

Very cool write. A classic. Our top dog likes to hump, which could explain why the rest of us little dogs are getting screwed. To bad he was never neutered.

Wonderful stuff, Ron! Delightfully doggie on all counts and with more than an indirect aspersion towards us humming bean critters. Crotch sniffers of the (canine) world, UNITE! All power to the puppies! Kennel wisdom of the highest and most sublime sort. My girl NALA, who has just had her accustomed mid-day snack (of one of my most important reference books, LoL), nodded wisely as I read this aloud to her. A non-verbal paean from Her Royal Spoiledness is a very high accolade, indeed! We need more like this one, Ron! :)))

Ron ... Thought-Provoking Do-Do !

Does hind tit have less milk ?
If so, it splains why I’m a Runt !

Love it. A succinct and playful reminder that dogs can most often be counted on to reciprocate our love... a innate instinct we all have. Too bad far too many humans have buried or abandoned that virtue.
