To avoid the Bible thumping censors, I've crafted this crafty peace, piece. To read correctly, substitute the correct censored two words. ;-)

Holy Shirt!

Egad! My shirt is so holy!

It must be closer to dog.

My dog certainly loves me,

when he chews on my tog.

For while I am naked,

before him, dog cares not,

for how I look shirtless,

or what accoutrements got.

He's just interested

in how sweet I smell,

as he makes my,

shirt holier than thou.

For I know my dog loves me,

regardless how I forsake him.

Will save me hell or high water,

whatever state I am in.

When I am in the state of ecstasy,

his nose is very sharp.

Is always there to greet me,

and never one to harp.

I will wear my holy shirt,

until the day I die.

When my dog will drag it on,

to be praised by another guy.

When I saw the name of the poem I should have known that Ron wrote it. You score again. Nice to have a humorist in our group.

They watch everthing we do. They listen to everthing we say. And they forgive anything that we do. Yes they know how we feel with just one look. Mans best friend. Nice poem Ronald.

Thank you for the smiles. A holy shirt indeed. Perfection in rhyme and flow, as always.

I’ve a dog

By Mark Lichterman

I’ve a dog

That eats out of a bowl that lies

On a towel on my bed

That won’t eat unless I’m in the room with him,

That won’t eat unless I’m in the room with him

But not looking at him.

I’ve a dog

That eats out of a bowl that lies

On a towel on my bed

That won’t eat unless I’m in the room with him,

That won’t eat unless I’m in the room with him

but not looking at him

That won’t eat unless I take some food

From out of the bowl and put it on the towel

But then not look at him.

I’ve a dog

That eats out of a bowl that lies

On a towel on my bed

That won’t eat unless I’m in the room with him,

That won’t eat unless I’m in the room with him

But not looking at him

That won’t eat unless I take some food

From out of the bowl and put it on the towel

But then not look at him.

What’s got who trained?

I was a cat person in my time, and had a cat with me thru my travels for nearly 25 years. I know little of dogs, but after reading this poem, I know why.

I got the second censored word but didn't get the second...still even without knowing the full story...it is definatly intriguing to read and ponder.

Dogs are our best friends. When I was a kid in Hong Kong we always had German Shepherd dogs, and they were loyal playmates to us. They would fetch us newspapers and keys and slippers when asked. When we suddenly switched to a tiny terrier dog, she would bark at anyone who came through the door wearing a pair of black pants. She hated people with black pants. She would bite them!

Com'n reviewers! We all love our dogs. But there's got to be something more about this poem that you can see if you're not blind.

Such nostalgia this provoked. My two labs 20 years ago had similar habits. I got them cured of clothing, only to have them work in pairs like a prison break, and try and claw their way through the bathroom wall where they were locked into while I was out, and they almost succeeded.
