Was thinking of Prince's Erotic City and thought I'd write this little ditty. I'm quite familiar with the subject matter.

St. Vitus Dance Courtesy Brooklyn Brainery Spasm City Refrain If you go down to Spasm City, you'll find it lively; you'll find it witty. The girls there are so pretty, if you're looking for romance, they all do the St. Vitus dance. And the guys are all brawny bare, as they shiver and shake there, to Parkinson's they owe their quiver, a fine muscle tone they do deliver The spinal alley is dark and dirty, but the girls there are kind of flirty. And if you get down to the nitty-gritty, doing the polio portfolio hurdy-gurdy. (Refrain) Holy smoke! Can they do the stroke! shake and slobber all day through. Want to dance in their shoes? Wouldn't you want to do it, too? So welcome to Spasm City, where you can get pal-sie with the palsy. You can dance your entire life away, maybe it's me, maybe it's you, ballsy. A wonderful excursion into the worlds most of us know not of. There is much to haunt the heart and mind in this comparison of dance as most of us know it and the dance that others are designed to experience. I couldn't help but equate the "Spasm City" also as, for this reader, a political allegory, assigning different actions to the variety of spasms cities across the country are about to experience on Tuesday. Let us hope what happens gives some solace to those able to escape the shake, roll, and rattle that is bound to happen. Loved this quirky piece, Ron. Light fare to remind us of much more serious ailments of the species.

I read a lot of good humored resignation in this poem. Having a good sense of humor is the key to weathering any storm, regardless of whether it is short term or long lasting. Excellent write!
