an anti war statement about Iraq

get on the bus?



i watch that boy, not yet a man

get on that bus

now i know watch

the next generations heart

its soul poured out

in blood on sandy streets

girls wait for their highschool sweethearts

that may never come home

oil interests stealing part of a generation

how can we give away America?

weren’t the young our future

what in Iraq is worth

the cost of our future?

our boys are our future

it is built on their shoulders

how can you offer them up for slaughter?

these are not lambs but boys too young

to understand death is easy

they will go silently into that dark night

for they know not what they do

there is nothing beautiful, just in this death

there is only the hollow silence

where these boys once played

i cry now for every women who’s husband

or would be husband

dies on foreign soil

for nothing but greed or to save face

i cry now for fatherless children...

the blood spilled on both sides of war

conceived in deception

thousands now gone forever

the dead are gone, still, dust

we can only save those still living

the dirty politicians still can

bring us back so many and

deliver back to us in speed

our boys still living

to give them a future

to give America a future!
