We should be excited about time travel. We can't not time travel. It is in one direction only, into the future. It occurs increment after increment, on an extremely regular basis.
What was it that happened today?
Sun trod its path in the Milky Way,
Planets, elliptic orbits tracked,
Moon ‘round the blue earth tacked.
On earth, tides rolled in and rolled out,
Waves tossed to, fro, and about,
Rivers ran off hills into the sea,
Winds were drawn and blew endlessly.
All matter, as properties demanded,
Joined, separated, shrank or expanded,
New molecular compounds arrayed,
Phase-shifts continued non-allayed.
Myriad processes continued apace,
Not heeding whim, or waiting for grace,
Locked in nature’s deadly embrace,
Must continue competitive interlace.
Dynamic events did wildly unfold,
Yet we can’t buy influence for fortune sold.
But looking backward to a point in time,
We could’ve had leverage for a silly dime.
Intelligence applied with rational respect
Gives us the power, future to affect.
Tidal waves crush every harbored boat—
Yet if warned and moved, are still afloat.
With bold stroke we bend coming events,
And initiate sequence no force prevents.
So remember past gain, all the glory,
But look ahead for a different story,
For nothing we do, nothing we say,
Can change what happened today.
This is very good! So much in here, I read it a few times. It is filled with knowledge!
